Went down to Colorado for the weekend to go whitewater rafting with my Dad and one of my brothers. Had a great time, although it would have been awesome if we'd been able to stay a little longer.
I learned a few different things on my trip to Canada, which wasn't the greatest trip I've ever taken:
1. Gas is more expensive
2. Cost of living is higher
3. Speed limits are much lower
4. Canadian beer SUCKS
That being said, the trip wasn't without merit. Had a great time in Chinatown, and went to a manga cafe for the first time. The French Canadian locals were really rude, and the only place to get a decent drink is at Irish Pubs.
Went to Cincinnati, OH for the weekend to meet a friend from Otaku-Streamers.com that I'd never met in person before, and have some fun around the city. This weekend would have been spent down in Denver, CO - but Anime Southwest cancelled 75% of their guest speakers at the last minute.
We went to the Newport Aquarium, Kings Island amusement park, and went on several craft beer runs to find some local brew for me to take back home.
Traveled to France for a week with my old roommate, since everyone needs a break from work now and again. We were mostly in the Paris area, but went out to the coast for a day to visit the Mont Saint Michel abbey.
Wine was fantastic, food was fantastic, and the locals were generally really rude. Overall, a fantastic trip.
Went out to San Diego with my father, uncle, and brother. It's a refreshing change from January weather in Nebraska; being able to smoke a cigar outdoors in the winter is something I seem to take for granted every year.
We went to the beach every day, did some whale watching, raced some sports cars, and still managed to find time to enjoy some incredible San Diego food and local craft beer!
I'm a 30 year-old computer fellow, located in Indianapolis, IN. I enjoy steaks, brunettes, Celtic music, and fine cigars. In that specific order.
